We do not offer KAP at our clinic for people with a history of schizophrenia, untreated manic states in bipolar disorder, or dissociative disorders.
Who it's for
An overview of who may be suitable for ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, and who is not. Final decisions are made at the initial assessment.
Who may be suitable
- Treatment-resistant depression
- Depression with strong suicidal ideation
- Depressive episodes in bipolar disorder
- PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder)
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder
- End-of-life care
Clinical studies have reported antidepressant effects, but how change appears varies from person to person, and not everyone experiences the same outcome. This treatment is not a substitute for standard care. Suitability is decided individually at the first-visit assessment.
Who is not suitable
Uncontrolled hypertension or heart disease
If blood pressure or cardiac status is unstable, we may be unable to offer treatment for safety reasons.
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Pregnancy or breastfeeding is outside our treatment scope, as effects on the fetus or infant are not established.
Other cases deemed unsuitable by the physician
If, at the initial assessment, care is judged unsuitable for safety or medical reasons, we cannot proceed.
